A vault structure with 200-meter in length and 75-meter in span comes forth as the most unique structure of this new airport in İzmir, Türkiye.
Unique in its architectural design and its engineering solutions, POLARKON has designed and manufactured special box sections with hidden bolt fasting systems. The structural behavior of the vaults has been supported with a special tensioning system consisting of 7 tension road 85-mm in diameter, which makes the structure an arch form. Also, for this unique project, POLARKON has installed their structural health monitoring system, where the continous and real-time monitoring for load variations on tension rods could be followed.
